Description: Okay guys, here is a concept that I worked on for a few hours and at first it just started out as something random. After watching the Walking Dead on Sunday, I wanted to do something that looked like a zombie or "walker", but I also wanted it to have meaning. The title of the lesson is called 'profile art drawing lesson', but in all reality, to me it's about the beauty and vibrancy of an innocent and free spirited soul, and how eventually all innocence is lost, gone forever through the ever changing spiral of life. The butterflies is supposed to represent the innocence of a child. When I was a child one of my biggest memories was the love of butterflies. As I got older, my innocence turned to age, decay, and all that life brings to your doorstep like pain, sorrow, confusion, frustration and heartache. It was a spiritual experience creating this art, and I hope all of you enjoy this lesson as well.
Description: For the very first drawing step all you have to do is create the front part of the face profile. I realize at this point it looks like nothing more than a mangled up jaw. The top front is actually the forehead and then that lining forms the nose. From there the face takes a turn for the worse and begins its journey down the decaying road. You will sketch out the lining for the upper and lower jaws like you see it done here.
Description: You will draw the hairline first which will help with drawing the profile of the face easier because you know where to place the eye and eyebrow. Once the hair line is drawn, sketch out the eyebrow and the girl's eye. The lashes should be bold and long, and the eye should be partially closed. Sketch in some cuts and tears to her skin and don't forget her falling tear.
Description: Here you will sketch out or draw the outline of her hairstyle which starts out combed back from the front, but then turns into a wild nest of a messy mass mixed with butterflies. Take your time with this step so the lining comes out close to the way you see it here.
Description: This is the line art or my line art. If you drew the butterflies in her hair your line art will look different. Color in your art and upload your work to Dragoart so others (including myself) can take a look at your work.
