How to Draw Chicks, Chicks

1

You will be drawing four chicks so powder your hands to prevent pencil sweat. First, draw a simple shape for the middle chick's body and then draw three heads.

2

You will be focusing on the middle chick for now so what you will need to do is sketch out the head from a side view profile, and then sketch in some of the chest. Draw and color in an eye, and then sketch the beak out as well as add some feathery fl

3

Continue to draw out the chick's body and be sure to do the entire body. Thighs only, the legs will be added later.

4

You will now work on getting another chick drawn, and this time it will be the one to the right. Sketch out the head and shoulders. You will then draw the beak and color in an eye.

5

Continue to sketch out the chicks body in full form. As you can see this chick has an upright breast stance. Sketch in some feather detailing and move to step six.

6

Repeat the same process for the third bird's head like so, and if you want you can switch up the face style by drawing a more prominent beak.

7

Again, sketch the rest of another chicks body like so, and like before add some detailing to the body in the form of feather rustling.

8

Draw out the last chick head only, and then draw the beak eye.

9

All you have to do is draw out the chicks legs and feet like so. Add some leg notch lines, and then start cleaning up the drawing. I know you are saying that the chick in the back has no legs, but in the original design there was a box behind the leg

Here is what your chicks look like when you are done. Now you can color them in, or better yet, add a Santa hat on one, two, of all of the chicks you have drawn.

Description: Well, I thought there were two more tutorials that I needed to submit but I guess not. I was thinking about something different for a lesson and since everyone is going to be eating turkeys, I think a tutorial on "how to draw chicks" is something that can be enjoyed and anyone can join in. I can remember when I was a kid, my grandmother used to have one section on her hutch that was just for her knickknack collection on seven chicks that all had Santa hats on. Each one was individually pieced. She used to add other Christmas characters to her chicken theme like Santa, Rudolph and even Sylvester the Cat. I used to get so excited to see who she added to the clan every time I went to her house. Well, I guess that is all I can really talk about when it comes to a group of chicks. Have fun drawing them individually, and remember to use your creative imagination and dress up your baby birds with a festive outfit. I will be back with one more tutorial so keep those eyes peeled to the computer screen. Peace out people!
