Description: Welcome back to another fun tutorial that is going to be based on one of Hollywood’s leading ladies and legends. I was looking at some of the video tutorials that others have uploaded from Youtube to see if there were any actresses or actors that I have not yet made into a tutorial. After trying to choose between several faces, I ultimately went ahead and chose one that is both beautiful and full of light. Today I will be showing you "<strong>how to draw Audrey Hepburn</strong>", step by step. Even though I didn’t grow up back in the thirties, forties, or fifties, I still enjoy watching black and white films as well as classics that are on the ‘do not miss’ list. Audrey Hepburn is one of those actresses that seemingly remain alive even though she has passed on. She was born Audrey Kathleen Ruston on May 4, 1929 in Brussels. Her career began in 1945 after the war ended. She moved to Amsterdam and while she lived there she began taking ballet lessons. She appeared in a travel film called ‘Dutch in Seven Lessons’. In the beginning Audrey wanted to become a ballerina but because she was tall, and didn't have adequate nutrition, becoming a ballerina was short lived. Instead she decided to take the advice of Marie Rambert to start an acting career. Her acting career didn’t take off unto the fifties when she was noticed by a scout who worked for Paramount Pictures. Her first big movies were ‘The Secret People’, and it was in this film that she played a ballerina and did all her own dancing. She then landed the lead role in the play Gigi which made her that much more popular. Before she knew it, she was being asked to play in other feature films like ‘Roman Holiday’, Sabrina, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, The Nuns Story, My Fair Lady, Charade, and some others I don’t know off hand. Her beauty was flawless and her personality was like that of a fallen angel. I really enjoy making this lesson on drawing Audrey Hepburn, and I hope all you fans like this tutorial too. Thanks so much for joining me once again, peace out and enjoy!
Description: Using the shape you just drew, begin sketching out the actual structure of Audrey's face. You are drawing her from a 3/4 view angle so keep that in mind when tackling her features. Draw her ear with the same lining and then sketch in her hairline which is in a pulled back bun style.
Description: Audrey has these beautiful simple eyebrows as well as face. Draw in her thick, nicely shaped brows like so, and then use the facial guidelines to make her eyes. Sketch in her nose, as well as her lashes on the corners of her eyes.
Description: Next, sketch in her eyelid creases, and then draw and color in her iris' leaving behind a few tiny white spots. Sketch in some lashes, and then draw in the detailing on her nose right at the tip as well as sketch in her nostrils.
Description: Finish sketching out her pulled back hairstyle which comes into a bun in the lower back part of her head. I kept this step simple, and didn't add too much detailing. Sketch in her neck and then begin cleaning up your mistakes and guides.
Description: Here is the very simple looking line art for Audrey Hepburn when you are all done with your drawing. Since this is a black and white picture, all you have to do is add shading, detailing and definition.
