Description: Hey guys, I know I've been getting numerous requests for The Rev from Avenged Sevenfold, so without any trouble, I went ahead and did this tutorial.I had a lot of fun painting a few portraits today, and I'll continue with more tomorrow. In this fun lesson, we'll be learning “how to draw the Rev from Avenged Sevenfold”. Drawing this guy should be easy for you to draw because of the simple steps I've prepared. Be sure to get yourself a pencil, paper, and eraser so you'll have an advance with preparedness. If you'd like to take your skills further, get a graphite sketch set and use my painting for reference on the shading. This however, is for advanced or intermediate skilled artists. The tutorial itself is simplified for novices, which are common amongst the site. Anyways, I've gotta get going and move onto my other fun lessons! I hope you'll enjoy and don't forget to let me know how you did and if the tutorial was easy. Rest in Peace the Reverend!
Description: For the second step, all you will be doing is sketching out the right side of the face, and then make sure that the same lining shapes out the neck which should also seem like it's part of the face. When that is done draw out the hair line, and be sure to sketch out the pointed chunks that are pushed to the left side of the face. The hair also frames the left part of Rev's face as it's flat up against the cheek.
Description: Its now time to sketch in the eyebrows and be sure to take your time with this process. Once that is done you can add the thick but soft dark markings around the entire eye which is as you know black liner. Draw in the eyeballs, and color in the pupils.
Description: Sketch out some of the nostril to the left of the nose, and then add the detailing at the tip as well. When that is done, sketch out the top lining for his mouth, and then add the creases on the side of the nose which are also called frown lines.
Description: Finish sketching out the mouth by completely drawing in the lips. He looks as though he has this frowned expression on his face. When the mouth is done, draw out the piercing under the bottom lip, and make a small arched line for the chin detailing. Add some beauty marks on the left cheek like so, and move to step seven.
Description: You are already almost done with this tutorial. Now all you have to do is sketch out the rest of his hair and as you can see it is straight down on the sides, ends in pointed strands, and sticks up a bit on the top. Add all the hair detailing and definition like so, and then you can clean up the face to prepare you work for completion.
Description: For the last step all you need to do is sketch out the shape of the face by adding some detailing lines along the jaw and chin. Draw out the back of his neck, and then make the lining for the collar of his shirt.
Description: Here is what the finished drawing of The Rev when you are all done. Now you can go ahead and color him in if you want, or like I always say, leave this portrait as a sketch. Great work guys and thanks for joining me once again.
