How to Draw the Korean Flag

Make a circle for the base of the center shape.

Next, make the wavy line in the center of the circle for the yang and yin.

Next, draw three straight lines to the left upper corner for the first symbol which represents heaven.

Here you will make two straight full lines at the ends, and one broken line in the middle. This symbol represents fire.

You are almost done with this lesson. Draw a straight line in the center of this next symbol, then draw two broken lines. This symbol represents water.

Lastly, draw the symbol in the lower right corner in the form of broken lines. This is earth and when you are finished with this symbol, you are done with the tut.

Here is the Korean flag folks. Color it in to finish it all off and to bring everything together.

Description: There is two more flag lessons that will be going up today and that includes this one on "how to draw the Korean Flag", step by step. This colorful but simple style flag holds a lot of questions like what do the marks at each corner represent, and what is the shape in the middle of the flag supposed to be or stand for? Well, after some research I found out that the flag is known to the Korean people as being the 'T'aegukki'. The name is derived from the circle in the center. The circle is in fact a harmonious symbol. The red is the yang and the blue is the yin. As far as the marks in each corner of the flag that circles the shape in the center are called The four trigrams. The upper left corner is heaven, the marks to the lower right corner is earth, the marks to the upper right corner is water, and the lower left symbol represents fire. Pretty neat if you ask me. This is a simple lesson to tackle so go ahead and get to it. I told you that the Korean flag had cool symbolism behind its meaning.
