Description: After this lesson I have two more tutorials on famous works of art. One is from an image to the title of an album from Pink Floyd, and the other is a recreation of an artist's work of art like the one you see before you now. But first, let us learn "<strong>how to draw The Birth of Venus</strong>", step by step. I know almost all of you are familiar with the image display in front of you but if you're not, I will give you a little information. The Birth of Venus is a painting that was done in the year 1486 by Sandro Botticelli. The painting was done out of commission work for an Italian family known as the ‘Medici Family’. They hired Sandro to paint a version of the Goddess Venus as a full grown women being born from the sea. There are many interpretations of the full meaning of the painting, but one popular understanding is how Botticelli shows his idea of what divine love looks like in the form of the Goddess Venus standing in the nude. I thought making a tutorial on one of the world’s most famous paintings would be something that other artists would enjoy. So have fun with drawing The Birth of Venus and I will prepare the next tut for you all.
Description: Are you ready? Good, let's get started. You will need to draw out the shape of Venus' body frame first so begin with a few circles for the head, torso and hip area. When that is done draw the leg guides, as well as the facial guidelines.
Description: Here we will begin sketching out Venus' body. Start with the shoulders, then draw in her torso and both arms. One of the arms is raised to cover one of the breasts while the other arm rests along her side. Draw in both hands too.
Description: Finish sketching out her body and make sure to draw Venus in her famous tilted pose. The legs should stay simple and the shape of her body shouldn't be too curvy. Add the definition on her belly, then draw in the feet and toes.
Description: For the last step you will need to draw out the clam shell that she is standing in. This is what is suppose to show how Venus is emerging from the water as she is being born. Add all the detailing to the shell and make sure that it's not drawn to seem flat. There needs to be dimension there. Erase your mistakes then you're done.
