Description: What an awesome day it's going to be today. I say this because, if you are one of those people that celebrates Memorial Day, you must be partying all weekend. We had a party yesterday with a nice big old fashioned campfire. All the little kids where toasting marshmallows over the flames, as the adults sat there and watched while talking and listening to music. I thought I would start the day by submitting a lesson that is awesome, and fun to draw. If you look in the top 50, you will see that number 40 is a skull design I drew back in 2008. I figured it was time for an upgrade, or at least an updated version. I didn't want to redo the old tutorial because it is still a very popular lesson that folks come here to learn from. Instead I will teach you "how to draw skull and crossbones", with a new design. I guess you could say the sketch is easier to tackle than the old one. I think this new drawing came out looking pretty sweet, which means you guys will love learning from it. One of my favorite things that I did with the lesson is the coloring. The blue tinted skull and bones has a nice subtle touch along with the fiery blue flames burning from the eyes. Of course I didn't include the flames within the lesson, but if you really want to draw fire in the eyes, all you have to do is add some simple fire, and you're good to go. Other than that, everything else is golden. Another detail that I didn't add is the crack lines scattered on the bones like the old lesson has. The reason why I left the skull and bones plain is because I didn't want to make an exact replica of the old tutorial. I mean, the whole point to doing an upgrade is to have the new look different than the old right? Anyways, I think you will enjoy this lesson that will show you "how to draw skull and crossbones", step by step. All the instructions are easy to follow, and the steps are simple to understand. I will be back with more drawing fin so stay tuned in to see what I upload next. Peace, and happy Memorial Day!
Description: Start this first step by drawing out one circle for the top part of the skulls head, and then another shape that is attached to the head for the jaw. Next, draw in some facial guidelines, and then draw the crisscrossed lining for the bones.
Description: The first thing you will do here is draw the shape of the skulls head. This can be done just by thickening the circle shape you drew in step one. Next, draw the shapes of the cheek bones, and add some indented bone lines on the cheeks as well.
Description: Look at that, you are already almost done with this tutorial. All you need to do now is draw out the holes for the eye sockets, and then another hole for the nose. Once that is done you can add some detailing under the eye socket holes to give the skulls face definition, and detail.
Description: You will now draw out the other bones like you see here and then begin drawing the teeth. I didn't draw a lower jaw, but you can if you want to. Once the bones are drawn in, and you have sketched out the teeth, you can than add some color in the eyes, and nose. Erase the lines and shapes you drew in step one, and then that's it.
