Description: The last member of Metallica that I will submit is the drummer. He is the Danish musician that is not only the drummer for Metallica, he is also the founding member. The final lesson is going to show you "<strong>how to draw Lars Ulrich</strong>", step by step. Lars was born one day after Christmas, December 26, 1963. He was born and raised in Gentofte Denmark, and in the beginning his future was already laid out for him. He was supposed to be a tennis player and to advance his future career in the sport, the family moved to Los Angeles when he was just sixteen years old. Unfortunately for the Ulrich’s it didn’t quite turn out that way for Lars. Instead he was drawn to music and to the drums after watching Deep Purple perform live. He was totally into the music, and after seeing them play, he went out and bought one of their albums. Lars became determined to become a musician and start a band. He took out an ad and later met James Hetfield, and together they formed Metallica. The name Metallica is a named that was suggested by one of Lars’ friends. He was looking for a name that screamed heavy metal. Originally Lars wanted 'Metal Mania' but obviously Metallica was the chosen name of the band. One of the things that Lars is known for is his ability to play thrash metal beats. You can hear this type of style in the songs Metal Militia, Fight Fire with Fire, Battery, and Dyers Eve. He started out his career playing a nine piece drum set, but after adjusting his playing style, he now plays a seven piece set. Anyways, this is it for the day, I will be back tomorrow with more drawing fun. I hope you enjoy learning "<em>how to draw Lars Ulrich</em>", I know you will. Adios peeps, and good-bye for now.
Description: Starting at the notch where the sunglasses rest on the bridge of the nose, you will begin sketching out the sides of his nose, and then draw out the widened nostrils. Lightly sketch in the frown lines that start at the sides of the nose, and then draw in some lining to begin the process of shaping out the lips.
Description: As you can see Lars is giving us a full show by displaying an open smile. Draw out both the top and bottom row of teeth, and be sure to sketch in the back teeth as well. Take your time with this step to make sure that every tooth gets drawn properly, neatly, and evenly.
Description: Okay, the first thing you will do is sketch out the detailing for the front of the glasses. This will not only add definition, it will also give the shades some glare effect. Once that is all done, begin sketching out his mustache, and then his beard. Lars doesn't have a full beard it's more like a scratching of hair that lines the structure of his jaw.
Description: Starting at the left lower side of his face, you will start sketching out his shoulder and shirt. There is many creases, folds and wrinkles when sketching out the tee and the reason why it has to be drawn this way is because the shirt appears to be loose fitting. Once that is all done you can draw out his forearm, and then the hand, and finger which are pointing up. This is a hand gesture for horns.
Description: You will now draw out the right hand starting with the index finger. The fingers after that are in a fist because he is gesturing horns. The thumb crosses over the index finger, and then draw the sides of the palm.
Description: Continue working on the right side of his body. Finish sketching out the arm starting with the wrist. Continue down and off to the side to sketch out the right shoulder and the sleeve for his tee. Add in those folds, layers, and wrinkles for added texture.
Description: For the last drawing step all you have to do is sketch out his short but neat hairstyle, and then draw in the ears. Next, draw the collar line for his tee, and then take your time as you sketch out the detailing on his arms and hands. This includes the wrinkles on all of his fingers and knuckles, and then the creases on his palms. Erase any visible shapes and guides to clean up the sketch.
