How to Draw Kissing Fish

Make two oval shapes for the fish's bodies.

Use one guide at a time, draw the actual body for the right kissing fish. Draw in the puckered lips, and proceed to step three.

Draw the other fish on the opposite side and add the puckered lips too.

You will now draw in the eyeball, the pectoral fin and then the tail fin. Add the detailing to both fins.

Add the fins to the left kissing fish like so, then proceed to step six.

You are almost done. All you have to do is draw in the dorsal fin which runs down the back of the fish. Add some scales and tackle the last step.

For the last drawing step, all you have to do is draw in the remaining fins and scales. Erase the mistakes and guides too.

This is the line art which means you can color in the fish. Draw in any background you like and show off the fish you just drew.

Description: I can remember a while back when someone asked that I make a lesson on a particular species of fish and I totally forgot. So here I am today with this long awaited tutorial on how to draw kissing fish, step by step. I had so much fun making these fish that I am so surprised that I didn't do it earlier. Kissing fish got their names because they actually do pucker up and kiss. Instead of them kissing the tank glass, I thought two kissing fish kissing each other would be better.
