Description: For a long time now I have been waiting to draw several Shippuden characters that I think are awesome. I drew this character live yesterday, and as far as I'm concerned he came out pretty darn good. I can remember being asked a while ago to make a tutorial on “how to draw Gaara Shippuden”, and for some reason I totally forgot all about it. For my first lesson submission I will give you detailed steps that will lead you to your own creation of Gaara. I mean he has to be one of the coolest looking members from the Naruto series, and his newer form is better then his first. Gaara is basically the same only older, smarter, and more skilled. I wrote a detailed description on his character with the original tutorial that can be found in the “Naruto characters” section. Not only is this tutorial going to be helpful, you will get some extra zoomed in steps that show you in detail how to draw Gaara forehead symbol which is written in Chinese and means “love”. I think that is so ironic how he has that tattooed on his head. Gaara is a character that never got any love as a child and to have that symbol on his forehead like that is really heartbreaking. How did he get that symbol anyway? Gaara used his sand to make the kanji on his forehead "love". This is a symbolism of a “demon loving himself”. If you really look at his face you can see that he is a hurt boy that would cry a river if the right buttons where pushed. I really had an awesome time sketching out his awesomeness, and I know you guys are equally eager to “draw Gaara Shippuden” as well. That is about all I have to say about this Naruto Shippuden character before I start breaking down in sadness. Have fun with this submission, and be sure to stay tuned in to see what gets uploaded next. Peace peeps!
Description: Before we get to the real nitty gritty of drawing Gaara Shippuden, let's get the basics down first. Start by making a circle for the head and then add the facial guidelines. As I explained in previous lessons, the facial guidelines are used to help make the face symmetrical. Without these lines you will more or less try and eyeball if the eyes are even with other, if the nose is in the center of the face, so on and so forth. Next draw a neck line and attach it to the rectangular box shape which will later be Gaara's upper body. Add a triangular pyramid shape for the crotch, and then draw the shapes of the legs. Lastly, draw the half circle shape for the start of his gourd that is filled with sand.
Description: You will now begin sketching out the shape of his face which should look a bit pointed at the base. When that is done you can draw his sharp tipped bangs, and then draw his ears, and mouth. Lastly, sketch the width of his neck, and the draw the shirt collar and shoulders.
Description: Gaara is known for his red spiky looking hair, so what you will do next is draw out his style and then begin sketching in his face. Start with his intense eyes, and then thicken the lining because as you know he has black bold outlines. Add the nose, and mouth, and then draw the Chinese symbol for love on his forehead. One popular stance Gaara is commonly seen in is standing erect, with his arms crossed. That is how you must draw his upper body. The detailing and definition for his shirt also needs to be added as well.
Description: Continue to sketch out his long coat and be sure to make it look like it is being blown by a bit of wind. Adding detailing crease, and fold lines will define Gaara's jacket. Next and lastly, draw the legs some more and add the strap around his left knee.
Description: Add some detailing to his buckle and then finish sketching out his pants, shoes, and feet. Gaara is one of the few characters that wears long length pants. Once that is complete you can begin cleaning up your drawing to prepare it for awesome color.
Description: Gaara Shippuden looks great, which means you did an awesome job drawing him out. Color in this Naruto character and your all set. Hope you had fun guys, and don't forget to rate and comment.
