Description: I'm back, and with my tutorial return I bring with me some fun lessons that I think you guys will enjoy. To start, lets learn "how to draw chibi Sokka", step by step because I feel that he is another important figure from the AVATAR series that needs to get done in chibi form. Sokka is what you call a big goof. He likes to think that he is funny, but most of the time I find myself laughing because he acts so weird. Now as all you fans know, Sokka is Katara's brother, but unlike Katara he is not a waterbender. Instead he is a warrior who tries to protect his friends to the best of his ability. His weapon of choice is his trusting companion the boomerang. He never goes anywhere without it, and if it's lost so is he. Sokka was a blast to draw because he is such a bright character. I feel that they should have cast someone else to play the life version of Sokka in “The Last Aibender” movie, but than again that's just me. I just feel that Jackson Rathbone was the wrong choice because he was just too old, and because he was more annoying than comical. I'm not saying that he was horrible I just think the role wasn't for him. Anyways, this lesson is going to show you the easiest way to "draw chibi Sokka". I hope you like what you see, and be sure to stay tuned in to catch a glimpse at the other fun lessons that will be going up shortly.
Description: As you know the first two things you will be doing is drawing out the head shape and the boxy shape of the body like you see here. When that is done add the facial guidelines to chibi Sokka's head like so.
Description: Using the facial guidelines that you drew in step one, you will need to draw out the eyes, eyeballs, and eyebrows. Take your time because you want to make sure that you draw a friendly but firm expression on his face. When that is done all you need to do is add the lining for the mouth, and then draw out and detail his ears.
Description: Everyone knows that Sokka has a thick middle stripe of hair and the sides of his head is shaved. You will need to sketch in the separation lining for the hairstyle and then sketch out his ponytail and elastic that holds it in place. Add in some detailing to his hair too.
Description: Add detailing to the wristbands, and then draw out the bottom half of his clothing and then draw in the belt. When that is done you need to sketch out the lining or trim on his shirt and then draw out his boomerang.
Description: The last drawing step is simple, all you have to do is draw out the legs, and then add the small feet like you see here. Erase all the lines and shapes that you drew in step one and then move to see what your chibi version of Sokka looks like when you are all done.
