How to Draw a Medieval Dragon

Let us start by sketching out the dragon's snout, forehead and then the eye, nostrils and teeth on the upper jaw.

Next up, draw the long snake like tongue which is forked at the end.

Up next, draw the bottom jaw and teeth like so, then draw the connective skin tissue that brings both jaws together.

We will now draw the fire or flames that is coming out from the corner of the dragon's mouth like so, and then when it's done add some mild detailing to the flames.

Up next, draw in the top part of the head, the back part of the head and then draw the fin like frills that flow down the neck and back.

Okay, there is no dragon body. Just a wing that is cupping the side. Sketch in the detailing to the wing and you are ready to move to step seven.

Lastly, we will draw the rest of the dragon's neck, then draw the scales on the front and the smaller circle shaped scales on the body. Also, draw in the dragon's beard. Erase whatever mistakes you may have made.

Here is the line art. Now you can color in your drawing on a medieval dragon.

Description: Hey folks, I'm back again today with some really cool lessons and I will be starting with this one on how to draw a Medieval dragon, step by step. This dragon ended up coming out so cool. It has that old world look and feel to the design almost like a Gargoyle statue. The great thing about this tut is how easy it's going to be to replicate. There are a total of seven drawing steps and one line art step. I think you will find that drawing a medieval dragon isn't all that hard. I do hope that you enjoy this tut and I will be back with some other exciting stuff to draw.
