Description: So before I submit my last tutorial for the day I want to quickly upload this tutorial of another dog breed that I find both interesting, and beautiful. Today I will show you "how to draw a Mastiff", step by step. The breed in the lesson is called an English mastiff, or old English mastiff. These dogs are one hundred percent massive in size and if you have ever seen one before, you know exactly what I mean. They have large square heads and their muzzles are almost half the size of their skulls. They have black mask markings around the eyes, and almost the entire muzzle, and ears are also colored black. The rest of the body coat commonly comes in a golden fawn shade, but you can also find the mastiff in silver, brindle, light fawn, and in apricot. Not only are these dogs humongous in size, they are also very powerful, and muscular. One of the awesome things about the mastiff is how they are naturally born to be a guard dog. It doesn't matter if they are extremely friendly, they do not need to be trained to be a guard dog. They are considered to be gentle giants, but they do require a lot of leadership from their owners. It’s also a good idea to make sure that your mastiff is well socialized so you don’t run into a problem where they are totally carefree around strangers. These beautiful dogs are truly exceptional to own, and because their lifespan is only ten to twelve years, owners try to live with their friends to the fullest. I had a lot of fun drawing a mastiff for you all, and I hope that you will have fun making your own too. As I said, I have one more lesson coming your way so try and stay tuned in. Peace out and enjoy!
Description: You will now start sketching out the muzzle of the mastiff. Start at the bottom of your face guide and begin making a rounded triangular shaped snout. Leave a gap at the top, but make the bottom of each jowl or lip round. Draw in the chin or bottom jaw like so, and add some detailing.
Description: Next, draw in his almost round shaped nose, and then add the nostrils. Sketch in the split between the nose and top part of the mouth, and before moving onto the eyes, add some detailing to the nose. Once that is done draw the small beady shaped eyes and darken them as well as make the crease lines drooping downward.
Description: And now finish off your mastiff by drawing in all those lovely wrinkles. Be sure to pay close attention to the forehead, and around the eyes because their faces droop. Clean up your drawing and that's it.
