Description: I was surprised to see that no one, not even me had a tutorial on a mage of any sorts. Today I will finally go ahead and make my version of a mage and of course since I’m a big time World of Warcraft fan, I pretty much based this character creation from being inspired by the mages from the game. She is a little anime looking, and I know that she doesn’t look like your typical magical looking female magician. I just wanted to make an updated version of what we believe these figures to be. I have always liked to make fantasy people because they have this beauty to them that can only be seen in art. There is so many different types of ways you can draw a mage, and even though some of you may be expecting a drawing on the sort of fantasy beings you see in a specialty shop as they lay there sculpted from clay, I think this version came out pretty cool, and my whole goal was to create a mage that went with the styles and designs of today or at least for my generation. Anyways, I’m sure a lot of you member’s and visitors will find a use for this character creation. I will be back later today with my last lesson for the day. While you wait for my return how about trying out "<em>how to draw a mage</em>" I think you’ll find that she is a useful figure to have.
Description: Here is where you can start to tweak the figure. You can either give her long wavy hair, a short style, curly locks, or you can choose to go with what I have begun to draw here. Start with sketching out some of the bangs, and then draw out her hairstyle in the back. Sketch out the eyes, and then add her nose.
Description: Sketch out the curled chunk of hair that is resting on her shoulder. Once that is done you can draw in that marking she has on her forehead. Finish her face by marking the mouth, and notice the smirk on her face.
Description: Here it is guys, the step you have all been waiting for. It is time for you to start tackling the upper body. Sketch out the shoulders, long extended arms, and then her chest and waist. You have to also add that bump for one of her breasts. Don't forget to draw in her wrists too.
Description: Okay, draw her right hand and as you can see the gesture conveys a spell being summoned. The left hand is in a cluthced pose because she is holding her mage staff which will be drawn in step seven. Once the hands are all set, you can draw out her other breast, and then add the lining and details to draw in her top. Don't forget to draw the straps, and waist line of the bottom half of the shirt. Lastly, draw a belly button.
Description: Sketch out her hips, and make the band or waist for her skirt. Next, you will draw out the open flap of her skirt like so, and be sure to draw in those folded lines to add texture and body to the skirt. Draw out the right leg, and you're done.
Description: finish drawing out the other leg, and then be sure to get both feet drawn out too. She is wearing high past the knee boot so be sure to add that horizontal line on her right thigh. Add detailing to her skirt and finish drawing it out. Draw in the leg strap she is wearing as well as her typical mage dagger.
Description: Once you have erase the guides and shapes that you drew in step one, you can start coloring in your mage to your liking. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial on how to draw a mage. I know I had lots of fun with you all.
