1

Start with two circles, one for the head and another for the body. Connect the two with a neck line like you see here.

2

Using the shapes you made in step one, begin drawing out the Loon's body starting with the head and pointed beak. Draw the neck, then the eye shaped body.

3

Next, draw the shape or lining to create the form of the bill or beak like so, then draw in the perfect rounded eye. Color in a small pupil, then draw the marking line on the breast or chest of the bird.

4

You will now finish drawing a loon but first you need to clear up the mistakes that you made throughout the lesson. Once that is done, you can color in the loon solid, then draw in the zebra pattern around the neck, and the checker pattern on the bod

5

Here is what your loon looks like when you're done. Now you can add a nice background for your new drawing of the loon.

Description: Here is a cool tutorial on another bird species that is both beautiful and odd at the same time. Today we will be learning "how to draw a loon", step by step. Loons are birds that can be found on the water the very same way we see ducks hanging out at the pond or lakes. Despite their appearance, loons are actually considered to be large sized waterbirds that have these long pointed bills used for finding and catching food like fish, frogs, and other types of prey. Did you know that loons can actually swim underwater by diving? It's true, the common loon can dive and swim underwater nearly three hundred feet in. What an amazing bird this is huh? I mean how many birds do you know of that can actually swim underwater and go almost three hundred feet down? I can't even stay underwater for four feet in after I dive, what a divine bird. Loons are also known for yodeling. They have a strange way of communicating with each other with their strange sounds. I listened to what types of noises they make, and even though the noise sounds weird, it's sort of beautiful and relaxing at the same time. Anyways, loons are black and white birds that have red solid colored eyes. Their heads are predominately black while their necks have a zebra like pattern around them. They are truly gorgeous waterbirds and I think I have found one of my new favorite species. Have fun drawing a loon folks, peace out!
