How to Draw a Hen

Draw a small circle for the hen's head, and then draw a short neck line line so. Attach the neck line to another shape that is in the form of an egg, and then add tow leg lines as well.

Sketch out the shape of the hen's actual head, beak outline, and the feathers or skin pieces on the head. When that is all done you can draw out the feathery chest, belly, and some of the back.

Now you are ready to draw out the beak in better detail, and then draw out the eye and color in the pupil. Lastly for this step sketch out the full spread of tail feathers, and then move to step four.

Draw the colored marking around th eye, and then draw some detailing on the body for the wing. You will also add some dash lines for the tail, and then draw out the thighs and hen legs and the feet or toes.

For the last drawing step all you have to do is draw out the feet and then add the detailing lines on the front of the legs like you see here. When that is done draw the nails, and then begin erasing the lines and shapes you drew in step one. After t

Description: Okay guys this is going to be the last lesson for the day and it is a request from my little seven year old sister. She wanted me to draw farm animals so instead of making a tutorial on a bunch of creatures that would be difficult to replicate, I figured making a lesson on "how to draw a hen" would suffice for now. Hens are, as you know chickens. They are the birds that live in coops, and are watched by roosters. A hen is just another name given to the chicken that is used to refer to them as being a game bird or other wild or domesticated fowl. I always have fun making drawings for my little sister because even though she is only seven, she is still a very active artist that loves making new animals to add to her farm or zoo collection. The hen in general is going to be easy to replicate and if you want to add some personal touches to make the chicken unique, that is totally up to you. I will only provide an easy tutorial that shows you the basics on "how to draw a hen". I hope you have fun, and when you are done you can add your finished work to the artwork section of the site.
