Description: Now it’s time to get another dragon uploaded to the site and if you tend to follow me on Facebook, you already know what type of dragon is going up next because I actually posted the finished drawing there first. To add another fantasy based creature to the front page of Dragoart, I thought that making a lesson on "<strong>how to draw a fairy dragon</strong>", step by step would be appreciated by all you dragon lovers out there. I’m actually quite surprised that this fairy dragon came out to my liking. The colors and background go well together as well as the style of the wings that I chose to make. For those of you that don’t know, fairy dragons are supposed to look like small snakes with wings. The heads are small, the bodies are small, and the biggest part on them is actually the wings. There is so many ways you can design your own fairy dragon. This lesson is basically here to show you how to go about getting one drawn in a very basic, but dreamy style. I think I may have succeeded with what I was trying to create; now you can try to "<em>draw a fairy dragon</em>" too and design it the way you like. Don’t go away guys because I still have more drawing fun coming your way. All you have to do is sit back and wait to see what pops up next.
Description: Using the shape you just drew in step one, you will begin drawing out the actual shape of the nose, and then draw out the jaw structure. Before you add the frills, you have to first draw out the shapes of the eyes and add some definition to the bridge of the snout. Once that is done you can go ahead and sketch out the flame shaped frills on each side of the head, and then draw in nostril holes to finish off this step.
Description: Now that the body of the fairy dragon is all done, you can now have a blast drawing out the large, oversized wing. If you want a design like the one you see here, simply draw an outlined shape of the wing, and be sure to include the tips and dips. Or you can choose to make your own styled fairy based wing.
Description: Draw the other wing, and then draw out the ends of the wing which are like small skinny tails of some sorts. The tip of the tail should be drawn with a tuft of hair. This is your last drawing step, so if you want to add some designs to the wings, now is the time to do so. Erase all the messy lines that you might have made along the way to prepare this piece for color.
Description: This is how the fairy dragon should look when you are all done. Now you can have even more fun as you color in the drawing and post it to your profile. Thanks guys, and I hope you all had a great time.
