Description: Well pretty soon Halloween will be here and then after that comes the month of November. With this month comes another holiday that is celebrated by many cultures (including mine), which is Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is a traditional North American holiday that is celebrated with a feast that usually consist of a large turkey, cranberry sauce, assorted nuts, danishes, pastry, stuffing, mashed potatoes, veggies, and other yummy food that we all love. So, having said that what you will be learning how to draw today is a traditional cornucopia step by step. Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November for the U.S or on the second Monday in October in Canada. What the feast represents is a replication of the fest that took place back in 1621 by the Pilgrims and the Native Americans. They celebrated with a feast to say thank you to their native friends that helped them survive in the New World. It was the help from the Patuxet Native Americans who lived with the Wampanoag tribe. They taught the pilgrims how to catch eel and grow corn. I love Thanksgiving, not only because of all the food we get to eat, but because it is the one month that the entire family comes together to celebrate a truly fun day. I love seeing relatives I haven’t seen in years my brothers and sisters always laugh as all the adults get drunk and stupid. I have to say my family is a laugh riot. In this tutorial I will show you how to draw a cornucopia step by step. This bundle of fruits and vegetables is a typical traditional image that represents the Thanksgiving holiday and means "horn of plenty". I hope you have fun with this tutorial I will be back soon with more for you all to learn from. Peace out and keep drawing.
Description: Okay start this first step by drawing out the guidelines and shapes that will help you draw the cornucopia. First draw a big cross like shape and then draw out the outline of the horn which looks like an elf hat. You will then draw a circle that is sitting off to the right side as well.
Description: Now here you will start sketching in the shape of the horn like basket and then draw a circle for the rim of the cornucopia. Add the circle shapes for the pumpkins and squash and then draw the jagged lines for the leaves.
Description: Now here you will start drawing in the detailing lines that are in each individual fruit and vegetable. The pumpkin gets its grooved lines as well as the small pumpkin just above it. You will finish drawing the leaf edges and then start adding small circles for the grapes. The circle that is off to the right also needs to be detailed. There are two more shapes that need to be drawn out in the hole as you can see.
Description: This is your last drawing step so you can start erasing all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one. You will detail the body of the horn with grooved lines as shown and then detail the pumpkins and fruit some more. You will also add more grapes as you can see and then draw the rest of the leafs.
Description: When you are done your finished drawing should come out looking like this. That is it just color it in and you have just finished this tutorial on how to draw a cornucopia step by step. I will be back with more drawing tutorials in a bit so stick around kiddies, if you don't you might miss the action.
