How to Draw a Cartoon Panther

1

The first thing you will need to do is draw two circle shapes, one for the head and the other for the body. When that is done you can add a connecting body line, and then sketch in a face guide.

2

Slowly begin sketching out the panther's face starting at the lower part of the brow or side of the face which is basically the cheek. Next, begin sketching out the snout as well as the open growling mouth using the same lining.

3

The facial guide that you made in step one comes into play here. You will use it to start sketching out the eyes, as well as the eyebrows. Notice the expression on this panther's face, it is as mean as can be. Draw the nose and add some teeth inside

4

All you will do in this step is draw the chin and jawline. Make some marks around the eyes which is basically going to be colored in using a lighter shade of black. Sketch in some crinkles or wrinkles on the snout or bridge of the nose, and then draw

5

We will be finishing the head and face for this cartoon panther just by drawing the top part of the skull. Notice how there is an indent in the middle of the head. The very same lining should be used to draw the large ears, and then add detailing ins

6

We will now get busy with drawing the body. Start by making a neck, and then completely draw out the front leg as well as the paw. The toes are nicely arched, and there is also a shoulder curve as you can see.

7

Make the other leg and paw like so, and be sure not to forget to add that toe that is on the upper part of the leg which is also known as the ankle.

8

So far we have drawn the panther's head, face, and front part of the body. Now we have to tackle the task of starting the back end. Do this by first drawing the belly, and then draw the hind legs. The leg on the outer part of the body is the only one

9

Complete your cartoon panther by drawing the back, shoulder arch, and then the hind quarters as well as the long tail. clean up the drawing to prepare him/her for color.

10

Here is what your drawing should come out looking like, or almost like when you are all done. You can color him/her in and then upload your finished work to Dragoart or show someone you know what you have just created.

Description: I wanted to get back to making lessons in a simple to follow format for a bit because I know that there have been more and more folks that are having difficulties learning the ropes when it comes to drawing animals they love. In the past I made a lesson on a panther for kids, but today I will show you guys how easy it can be to "draw a cartoon panther". The style concept is a bit like the adolescent version of Simba from Disney's 'The Lion King'. Since almost everyone loves that type of drawing style, I thought it would be fun to create an exciting version of a cartoon panther. Panthers are sometimes confused with black jaguars, and black leopards. All three species are absolutely gorgeous which means creating a version of a black panther in cartoon style is not only going be fun, but its also going to be very exciting. I keep the concept of the black panther to be drawn from the side view since this is the most simplest form you can almost always do. The face is one of my favorite parts that I drew for this panther so I believe that for all those that choose to tackle this tutorial on drawing a cartoon panther, you are sure to have fun. Go ahead and get busy so I can do some more work. Look for my return in just a bit folks!
